Activities Equipment

The region’s equipment store has a variety of equipment to support activities.  This is list is a summary of what is available an more detailed list with rates and specifics will be available on this page in early 2005.

There are charges for use but we try to keep these to a minimum remembering we must maintain and plan to replace worn out and damaged equipment.

Specialised equipment must be borrowed in the name of a qualified activity leader.

Alpine/Bushwalking Equipment

-          GPS

-          Light Weight Gas Stoves

-          Alpine Tents (for Alpine Activity use only)

Flying Fox

The Flying Fox Trailer is fully equipped and fitted to construct and run a dual run flying fox.

Mountain Bikes

Kept at Camp Coutts we maintain a number of mountain bikes.  They can be hired when using the camp but may also taken for activities outside the camp.

Rock Activities Equipment

-            Static Ropes (9mm and 11mm in various lengths)

-            Climbing Ropes (11mm)

-            Set Up Equipment (Carabiners, Tapes, Slings)

-            Recovery Bag (Pulleys, Prussicks, Ropes)

-            Harness Kits in groups of 5 (Helmet, Harness, Descending Device, “D” and Gloves)

-            Training Equipment (Descenders and other equipment)

-            Rock Climbing Equipment (Friends, Cams and Quick draws)

-            Miscellaneous Equipment (Belay Plates, Ground Roller, Rope Protectors)

-            Rope Cutter

General Use

White Water Equipment

-          Helmets

-          White Water PFDs
