1st HURSTVILLE CUB SCOUT PACK
Theme: Working with Physical Disabilities
7.00 Opening
7.10 Scarves/Non Scarves: Cub Scouts in two teams, one with scarves on the other with scarves off. A ball is given to one team and they have to throw it to another person in their team, while the other team tries to intercept. The person holding the ball cannot move, however all of the other cub scouts can run around freely If the ball is dropped on not caught the person dropping or not catching the ball pushes one sock down. Continue the game until everyone has two socks down or everyone has a few turns at throwing the ball. Can only throw to a person one time. If needed can change over after ten throws.
7.20 Circle Soccer Pack sit on chairs in a circle with their hands behind their backs. With their feet only they kick soccer balls across the circle. If a ball goes through the legs of the chair the Cub Scout who is sitting on the chair loses a point. The winner is the person with the least points lost.
7.30 McDonalds. (Using finger spelling) Cub Scouts line up in two teams then sit on floor opposite each other with their feet touching. Each pair are given a letter and when this is signaled they jump up and jumping over the outstretched legs go to the end of the line run and touch the wall, back up the outside of the lines, over any outstretched legs and then back to their place. First one back scores a point for their team. Letters: B, G, H, X, V, D, L, M, S, A
7.40 Travelling Blind Divide Pack into three teams. One team is blindfolded. Other two teams are obstacles in their path. The blind folded Cub Scout have to walk from one end of the hall to the other without bumping into any obstacle. If they bump someone they sit out until all the team is through. Change teams.
8.00 Balls in Bucket Divide Pack into two teams. These teams sit around a circle with their legs crossed in front of them. In this game they can only move their arms. Two buckets are placed in the middle of the circle and a number of tennis balls are given to each team. The idea is to throw the balls into the bucket for your team. The team with the most balls in a bucket at the end of a given period are the winners. Any ball that misses the bucket can be picked up by anyone who can reach it without moving their body.
8.10 Numerical Order Cub Scouts are divided into teams. Each Cub Scout is given a number in any order. The Cub Scouts are Deaf & Dumb so without speaking or signalling they need to line- up in Numerical Order by any means possible. Can by run again using birthdays.
8.20 Ready for anything Equipment: 1 item per Cub Scout - Less one. (blocks, bean bags etc) Cub Scouts line up at one end of playing area and items at the other end. Leader gives a direction which must be carried out to other end to claim an item. Person without an item must miss one turn. All change places and items are replaced (less another one) Example: Hop on one leg, close one eye, walk backwards.
8.25 Closing
