Caring & Sharing Grandparents 5.00 Opening Ceremony Main Welcome to the Grandparents/Visitors 5.05 Toad in the Hole Yara Joeys and visitors are to stand in a circle around the hall. They are to stand with the their legs slightly apart( large enough for a ball to go through). Their feet should touch the person next to them. Three or four balls are given out evenly amongst the group. The object of the game is to try and pass the ball through the legs of another player in the circle. If a ball comes near you bat it away with your hands. No throwing is allowed. If the ball passes through your legs you stand out. Play continues until one is left. 5.15 Under and Overs Orana Forms even teams. A ball is given to the leader of each group. The leader passes the ball through their legs to the person behind. They then pass the ball over their heads etc etc. The person at the end of the line, then moves to the front when they have the ball and play continues until the original leader is back. 5.25 Changing Places Malu Joeys and visitors stand in a circle ( or sit on a chair if room allows).. One person is left in the middle. This person selects a card from the pile and reads it out. Anyone fitting that instruction must swap places with another person fitting that description. The person in the middle must try to get to an empty space. 5.35 Afternoon Tea All Joeys now wash their hands and tidy up for afternoon tea. In this time they can hand out their gifts and sing the songs they have been learning. - Tom the Toad - Pizza Hut - Yogi Bear A brief outline of a normal programme may be given to the Grandparents & Visitors. 5.55 Closing Ceremony Malu A big Joey thankyou to our guests and parent helpers. |
