After completing BL1 and BL2, each trainee leader participates in a sectional Basic Leadership 3 course. This includes the award scheme, the weekly programme, ceremonies, councils (e.g. Troop Council, Pack Council), section-specific material (e.g. craft, camping, service, running meetings) and age-specific material (e.g. the ten-year-old cub scout). Each BL3 also includes an introduction to the section's outdoor activity programme.
